A Welcome Recognition
We’re delighted to share that Rusty Oak has won Best Interior Design: Individual Home (over 2,500 sq ft) at the British Homes Awards 2026.
Being shortlisted was an honour in itself. To see the project go on to receive the award is a welcome recognition of the care, collaboration and attention to detail that shaped it throughout.
Beyond the Finished Spaces
Awards often focus on what can be seen in the finished photographs, but projects are built through countless decisions made along the way.
From the earliest design discussions through to construction and final detailing, Rusty Oak was shaped by a desire to create a home that felt coherent, considered and enduring. Each stage brought its own challenges and required close collaboration across the team.
The project benefited from the contribution of many skilled people, each bringing their own expertise, craftsmanship and care to the process.
What Recognition Means
Awards are never the goal, but they provide an opportunity to reflect on the values behind a project.
For us, the most successful work responds thoughtfully to its context, is rooted in quality craftsmanship and continues to serve the people who use it long after completion. It is particularly rewarding when this approach is recognised by others within the industry.
Looking Back
Rusty Oak has been a memorable project from start to finish, and we’re grateful to everyone who contributed their time, skill and care to bringing it to life.
This award marks an important moment in the project’s story and a chance to acknowledge the collective effort behind it.
