Rusty Oak has been shortlisted for Best Interior Design: Individual Home (over 2,500 sq ft) at the British Homes Awards 2026.
A Scottish Farmhouse Reimagined
Set in West Perthshire, at the edge of the Scottish Highlands, Rusty Oak is a thoughtful transformation of a traditional stone farmhouse into a contemporary family home.
History Meets Contemporary Living
The project brings together the character and history of the original building with a simple, contemporary approach to space, light and material. Existing elements have been carefully retained and complemented by new interventions, allowing the home to feel both rooted in its setting and suited to modern family life.
Rooted in Place
From the original stonework to the handcrafted details within, Rusty Oak reflects an approach to design that is grounded in its surroundings and the character of the building.
We’re pleased to see the project shortlisted alongside this year’s exceptional entries.
